OAR

"Any Time Now"

Everfine Records

OAR, meaning of a revolution, was started at Ohio University by lead singer Marc Roberge and drummer Chris Culos. The two along with lead guitarist Richard

On, saxist Jerry DePizzo, and bassist Benj Gershman, developed a very unique sound. Their music can be classified as a mixture of reggae, rock, ska, and folk and along with Marc's southern drawl, the band makes a lasting impression.

About a year ago a friend of mine told me to check out an OAR concert. She promised me that it would be an awesome show. I'm happy I took her advice and went, because OAR blew me away with their amazing performance. OAR's new CD "Any Time Now" is a live CD and shows how upbeat and talented OAR really is. This live CD has songs from the previous albums "Wanderer,""Souls aflame," and "Risen."

The live CD has great energy and is an example of how talented and great OAR is in concert. It's also a great compilation of the best OAR songs from over the years. Their famous song "That was a crazy game of poker" is a lot of fun to listen to, you can hear how the song has developed over the years. "That was a crazy game of poker" started out as a fast pace song on the CD "Wanderer" but over the years they added to it into the Improv version found on "Any Time Now." After the song "Night shift" Marc introduces Junior Marvin from Bob Marley's band, and they sing an amazing rendition of "Stir it up."

"Any time now" is exactly the reason why this college band has made it big. Not only does the band put on a great show, they make sure that the show is unforgettable.
